The Nivens' were here!!!

Tyler, Sarah, and Riley Nivens came to visit from Columbia last weekend! Riley really wanted to meet Brady. Riley is about 7 1/2 months old but Brady pretty much weighs the same as her....woops :)

Tyler and Ian went golfing Saturday morning while Sarah, Riley, Brady, and I went shopping and to my parents house for a while! When the boys returned, Sarah and I went to get pedicures and enjoy a much needed happy hour at Tanners all to ourselves!

It was fun to have the Nivens' here, having another couple with a baby to spend time with makes the boring nights not so boring!

Below are a few pics that we got of the weekend....pretty much just Riley because she's a ham...... :)

Uncle Eammon moved in again!!!

Eammon recently got a job with Traveler's insurance. He is now living in our guest quarters while saving money to eventually get his own place soon! We love company, especially Eammon! He likes to mow the yard :) Brady likes to have uncle Eammon here too, they watch basketball together and fist pump when there is a good play!

KU Graduation Ceremony

On May 22nd I officially graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters in Special Education. When starting the program I felt that I would NEVER be done with school, but it happened. I can officially say that I will never go back to school and I am satisfied with my degrees! Ian, my mom, Bob, Courtney, and my aunt Leanne were in attendance. It was a HOT day. The black gown really helped too.

I walked the hill, which is apparently the BIG deal for KU, Ian was able to find me and video tape me walking into the stadium :) He's so dedicated.

The ceremony was quick which was nice. 2 planes flew overhead trying to skywrite a "KU" which didn't look much like KU, it was just distracting!

We sang our Rock Chalk and called it a day!!!

Thanks so much to my husband and fam for making it out, I really appreciate it! And thanks to aunt Danielle for watching Brady that day :)

Brady's Here!!!

Whew! It took a while to get updated, but Brady is here! And believe it or not, he is almost 1 month old :( It really does fly by like everyone says.

Brady made his arrival on March 14th, via c-section. My water broke one week earlier than my scheduled c-section. My water breaking was an interesting experience, but I am kind of glad I got to experience it!

We arrived at the hospital around 1 something, was moved to the operating room around 3:30 or so, they began my c-section at 4 PM and Brady was out at 4:18 PM. What a process! It was very exciting and happened SO fast. We spent 4 days in the hospital, which was fine by me with pain pills and other perks, but Ian didn't enjoy the sleeping arrangements! We loved all of our visitors and loved going home!

We are slowly getting Brady figured out. Some days he sleeps ok and other days he doesn't. I can't wait for his sleeping pattern to stretch out a little more! He smiles and laughs in his sleep, has cute blue eyes, and is very sweet. We are very blessed....and tired :)

He has already been out and about because I don't think I can spend all day in the house without going crazy! My hat is off to stay at home parents. It is extremely tough to be alone all day with no interaction....Louie only says so much!

We are excited for Brady's baptism in May. We will try to keep you posted on all of our fun events as they happen!!!

Brady...37 weeks

I had my 37 week appt. today with a sonogram. The sonogram indicated that the baby is measuring 1 week and 5 days ahead of what we think (he always has measured farther along). With that, his estimated weight TODAY is 8 lbs. 10 oz. YIKES! With 2 1/2 weeks to go that was a little scary. The sono tech did say that measurements can be "off" by a pound or two both ways.

I met with my doctor who agreed that he was a little big. She checked me and I am dialated to a 1. She checked my anatomy while she was "checking" things and determined that my baby and my size might not mesh well. She doesn't think that there is quite enough room for him to sneak out easily. She determined that a c-section would be best for me and him, especially given my previous back surgeries and the strain that a vaginal birth could put on my back and body. I was ok with her decision.

She does not deliver before 39 weeks so it looks like I might schedule a c-section for Monday, March 21st. There is still a chance that I could go into labor on my own and if I did I would attempt the vaginal delivery. Basically, she doesn't plan on inducing me. It's go on my own or do the c-section on the 21st.

I will keep you updated on anything interesting. Otherwise, it looks like we might meet Brady on the 21st!

Brady Update

We had an appointment today.....about 4 1/2 weeks to go, maybe. The doc said that I'm measuring at 36 weeks, which I should be. He's head down, which he should be. But the fun news is that she said I'm all baby in there and she thinks he's gonna be big. SUPER....just what I wanted to hear :)

My feet, hands, and face are swelling as if I'm allergic to life. I've had minimal contractions and nothing else to report. He's still a busy guy in there, it appears he's practicing gymnastics or something similar from his motions.

I have my next appointment March 8th where the doc will do a final sono to determine his size and if she wants to induce.

My last day of work is March 11....which is exciting! I will be off from March to August with him, I can't wait :)

For anyone that didn't get my fun text today, here is a picture of my poor feet trying to escape from my shoes today!

Valentine's Day

Ian and I celebrated Valentine's Day by going out to eat and exchanging gifts! He of course had to throw me off and send flowers to our house Friday. It doesn't matter what day they come in my opinion, it's flowers!!! He then told me that we had dinner reservations on Friday. I then told him that his brother was coming in town that night. So he then told me we had reservations on Saturday. I said "what time do I need to be ready?" He replied "it starts at 6:45." It???? So I'm thinking, ok we're going to the dinner theater or something like that. I was a little worried to go b/c I was tired, my back hurt, you get the drill!

We head to dinner on Saturday, not towards the dinner theater. I'm thinking, please don't just drive around town to confuse me, I have no patience. When he turned onto 119th towards Roe I was stumped. We then pulled into Ya Ya's and I said "why did you tell me it started at 6:45?" His reply, "When did I say that?" Ugh........ So he didn't even know he threw me off, he was just being Ian.

We had a great dinner...you know, the kind where they let you "try" the wine before pouring the entire glass. We both just wanted to say "it's good buddy, we don't need to sniff and taste!"

We exchanged gifts too! I bought the typical cologne and chocolate and he got me 3 more Pandora charms for my bracelet, he's the best! If you're not sure what the Pandora bracelets look like, I've included a pic of my bracelet.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Brady's Things.....

Brady's things have taken over!!! His room is ready, our room is ready for him, and the living room is packed full of all things baby!

Baby Shower

I had a wonderful baby shower last weekend, thanks to all of my great friends and family! There was great food, decor, gifts, and cake! My sister-in-law, Kelly, MADE my shower cake! It was a perfect mixture of regular and gluten free chocolate cake. It looked amazing and tasted SO good. She did such a great job!

Brady got some super fun gifts.....Ian loved the Broncos snow suit the best! We are so lucky to have so many great family and friends that love this baby!!!

Today marks 34 weeks, just 6 to go. I say just 6, but it's going to be a long 6.....I'm a little uncomfy!!!

Brady's Room

We still have some items to hang and organize, but here are the basics!!!

29 Weeks....and counting

I'm officially in my 29th week of pregnancy. I really do remember the first month thinking, "I have so long to go". WOW....time has flown by. Luckily, I'm feeling really well, haven't had much at all to complain about. There are a few things that I could do without (to remain unmentioned due to the "yuck" factor) but overall things are good.

We just had our 4D sonogram and holy cow that was fun! He looks like Ian!!!! It was so amazing to see his face, feet, and "parts". He's still a boy! Although expensive, I would tell other people to do that sono at least once!

I officially completed my Masters with KU!!!! What a great feeling. I've been in school pretty much the last 10 years of my life so adjusting to having NOTHING to do after work or on the weekends has been kind of rough. However, come March.....I think I'll have something else to do :)

Ian and I are busy getting things ready for the baby. The room is done, we're attending classes (some may think it's silly but trust me you don't know it all!!!) We have quite a few books that we are reading to prepare b/c of course that will tell us EVERYTHING and we should have no problems!!!

I'm VERY excited for my upcoming showers and I'm getting to the point where I don't want to be pregnant anymore, I just want to have him here!!!

Brady Eammon Krusich

BIG Update....

Obviously I'm pregnant. I'm just now at 20 weeks, half way done. It's hard to believe. Ian is stripping and staining my grandma's old furniture for the nursery...at a moderate pace. We (Ian) will be painting the nursery in the near future. The bedding has been ordered and we have purchased our Broncos and KU onesies. There is still plenty to do!!!

Ian has settled in working with Dr. Charles Kimes, some people didn't know that he switched offices. Things are going well.

I will officially complete my Masters program through KU come December!!! My official graduation ceremony will be in May when I get to walk the hill!!!

Christmas music is now being played on the radio, my fave! I would decorate the house for Christmas but I'm afraid visitors would frown upon that....don't anyone come over for a while.

Oh....and baby Krusich's name is Brady Eammon Krusich!

San Diego....

Here we come! Ian and I are going to San Diego the first week of August. We have a rental car and no plans when we get there, it should be great! I think the zoo and the wildlife park are in the cards, but otherwise we are at the mercy of San Diego! If anyone has any suggestions for spots to visit let me know!!!

Whew!

Here is an update on the Krusich's:

Ian and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary. We spent the day going to a movie, walking around the Plaza, checking into the Intercontinental Hotel on the Plaza, and eating dinner at McCormick and Schmick's. It was SO fun. Just staying in a hotel in our same city was still tons of fun!

I am done teaching summer school, finished one summer course at KU and will finish up my other KU course this week...Masters will be complete this fall!!!!!

Ian's birthday is this Saturday, we are celebrating by having people over, rain or shine!

Ian and I are headed to San Diego for an additional anniversary present to eachother, Aug. 4-8. Should be TONS-O-FUN!

School starts back up for me Aug. 13, yikes, where did the summer go?
